After a glorious week or so in the Sub-Antarctic Islands, it was time for something completely different. We headed to Fiordland for some of the most dramatic scenery on the planet. What a way to end our year, by visiting both Dusky and Doubtful Sounds.

In both locations, we boarded our Zodiacs and went exploring. Scenery and greenery were the highlights for sure, but peace and tranquility were not far behind, except when interrupted by wildlife. Fur seal pups made a haunting call, and kaka parrots were noisily flying about. We observed massive waterfalls in all directions. And to end it all, in a sheltered bay, we enjoyed one of the best times on National Geographic Orion, crew bingo!
