Today we will visit some of the most volcanic islands in the archipelago, the lava flows that cover these islands were formed a few decades ago. Life has been able to arrive and stablish very slowly, changing the unhospitable landscape gradually. This is and unique opportunity to explore from the kayak or zodiac, looking for the Galapagos penguin, sea lions and shorebirds. We will travel back in time to explore the very recent lava flows of Sullivan Bay on James Island and understand the origin of the islands both geologically and biologically.
