Clear skies greeted us this morning as National Geographic Venture navigated north in Chatham Strait. Dr. Andy Szabo from the Alaska Whale Foundation came aboard after breakfast to explain his research on humpback whales and the cooperative bubble-net feeding technique they use to trap herring. Just as he completed his presentation in the lounge, staff on the bow spotted a group of whales doing exactly that!
