We are ending our expedition in the vast Upper Amazon region aboard Delfin II. The rainforest is full of surprises everywhere you look. This morning was no exception, and we spotted many unique organisms endemic to this vast, green jungle.
This morning, we explored Casual Forest in search of wildlife. Shortly after disembarkation we had our first sightings! The trail is long and flat with so many types of trees, from small ones to big ones more than 90 feet tall. This area is home to many species iconic to this jungle, such as the three-toed sloth, wattled jacanas, and the black-collared hawk. On the forest floor we found tarantulas and even a yellow-tailed anaconda! It was a fascinating walk, with most of the sightings new to all of us!
