The day at sea brought us an opportunity to really make the most of National Geographic Endurance, and guests got into the spirit by participating in a variety of activities. We started early out on deck with common bottlenose dolphins and watched the boobies, both masked brown and red-footed, flying around the ship trying to catch the flying fish.
The expedition staff delivered a couple of presentations, with Madalena Patacho educating us on ‘A Sea of Whales’ and Gerard Baker providing chocolate tastings as he talked about ‘Food Plants of South America’.
In the afternoon we branched out, with guests showing their artistic prowess at Amy Malkoski’s ‘Our Journey Through Drawing’. Amid all this learning, guests also relaxed in the jacuzzi, enjoying the view and having a quiet read while watching for dolphins.
Given all the delicious food we’ve been eating, it wasn’t surprising that some people chose a workout in the gym or attended a Pilates or stretch class.
To close out the action-packed day, Dave Braun gave a captivating talk about the Atlantic Ocean.
