Guests awoke to pristine conditions for a day of transit towards the Kimberley. The first activity was morning yoga with wellness specialist Belinda. After breakfast in the outdoor café, naturalist Martin gave a presentation, “The Magnificent Kimberley.” He introduced the region and let guests know what they could expect to see in the coming week. Following another exceptional lunch, naturalist Adam gave his presentation, “Cetaceans Revealed.” This was very fitting, as guests were treated to spectacular heat runs from visiting humpback whales throughout the morning. Heat runs often include up to six animals, and in this instance, they were happy to approach the vessel and offer up-close views. Afternoon tea was served in the lounge, which naturally transitioned into David and Jennifer’s joint presentation, “National Geographic Assignment: The Art of Self-Inflicted Insanity.” Guests returned to the lounge once more for evening cocktail hour and the first round of recaps hosted by the naturalist team. Guests enjoyed their dinner in the restaurant before retiring for the evening. Everyone wants to be well-rested for the activities to come.
