After three days of exploring the fabulous Arctic paradise of Svalbard, it was time to head farther south toward the icy coast of East Greenland. Every day we wake up unsure of what the future held. We were at the mercy of the weather and ice gods, and the careful planning and navigation of our expedition team. Plans tended to change as soon as they were made and all we could do was roll with it. This was expedition travel, after all, and anything could happen.
