We awoke this morning to following seas and a crisp southeast breeze blowing us up the Drake Passage. The morning started with a lovely breakfast from our galley team followed by a disembarkation briefing from Assistant Expedition Leader Cammy.
As the morning progressed, a variety of seabirds aggregated around the ship, using the strong winds to effortlessly glide on by as we sailed. We were treated to a handful of different presentations from our naturalists and visiting scientist throughout the day, which kept everyone busy in between packing for departure tomorrow.
We were treated to an exceptional spread of empanadas in the afternoon, which may have spoiled everyone’s dinner, however, it didn’t matter as they were so tasty! The evening was filled with a team trivia put on by the expedition staff, which was a great way to round out the day.
