After the excitement of the seas last night, we awoke to calmer conditions in the morning and we were able to enjoy the delights of breakfast as we sailed north toward the Beagle Channel.
We were treated to excellent presentations during the day. Up first, Joselyn gave us some brilliant insights into life on an Antarctic base. Following tales of her time at McMurdo Base and the South Pole, Julia taught us all about the climate and ecology of Antarctica.
After another beautiful lunch, National Geographic Photographer Lujan told us stories of the peatlands in Tierra del Fuego in her lecture entitled “Portraiture”.
With the land on the horizon, we settled in to one last evening of cocktails, with Captain Yuri hosting. We enjoyed a wonderful compilation video of our photographs from the expedition put together brilliantly by our photo expert, Lisa.
With our bellies full from one final, delicious dinner, we enjoyed the beautiful sunset greeting us as we entered the Beagle Channel. We reflected on the wonderful 10 days we have spent together exploring and experiencing all Antarctica had to offer.
