LINDBLAD EXPEDITIONS OFFERS NEW BAJA CALIFORNIA MULTI‐DIMENSIONAL PHOTO EXPEDITION

Nature, Wildlife and History with a National Geographic Photographer

NEW YORK, NY, June 2011 – Lindblad Expeditions has announced Baja California Odyssey: San Ignacio Lagoon and the Sea of Cortez, a new photo expedition that voyages the vibrant Sea of Cortez, one of the richest places for marine mammals in the world. The 11 days/10 night expedition aboard the 62‐passenger National Geographic Sea Bird departs January 11, 2012 from La Paz.

Joining Lindblad’s 6‐person expedition team for the one‐of‐a‐kind journey will be National Geographic photographer, Susan Seubert, a recipient of Life Magazine’s Alfred Eisenstaedt Award, editorial photographer and photojournalist, along with two Lindblad‐National Geographic‐certified Photo Instructors. They will be aboard to inspire and assist guests in shooting fantastic wildlife photos, with multiple opportunities to get in close— via Zodiac, kayak, walks or hikes—to take advantage of the unparalleled encounters.

Geared to photographers of all skill and Interest Levels, the voyage is dedicated to improving guests’ skills, with active days shooting in the wild and evenings offering photography discussions, presentations and mini workshops. Whether it’s aboard the ship, exploring ashore or simply chatting over drinks, the photographers and expedition team will always be available for assistance.

The voyage will provide endless photo ops — leaping dolphins, breaching whales and sculpturally perched pelicans— on a small ship in the vibrant Sea of Cortez. Guests will explore the remote islands kayaking, snorkeling and swimming in all the best spots; take photo hikes among the giant cacti on Isla Santa Catalina; spend two days and one night in a rustic seaside cabin at San Ignacio Lagoon nearby gray whales, and head out in pangas to encounter the feeding calves and mothers. History will unfold with a hike through a narrow arroyo to the only known ancient art site where cave paintings of every color used throughout Baja California can be found; and visits to the mission towns of San Javier and Loreto.San Javier Mission is one of the most beautiful and well‐preserved in Baja California.
