FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY, September 18, 2008 – Lindblad Expeditions (www.expeditions.com), the New York based expedition travel company with a strong commitment to expedition excellence and environmental stewardship, made the INC. 5000 list in 2008 as one of the fast growing privately held companies in the U.S. The list is the most comprehensive look at this most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Led by Sven Lindblad, President and Founder, Lindblad Expeditions has continually set the standard for innovation in small-ship expedition travel, enabling guests to explore the world’s more remote and pristine regions like the Galapagos Islands, Baja California, Alaska, the Arctic and Antarctic.

“The Inc. 500/5000 list has consistently highlighted the most dynamic and fast-growing companies in the U.S.,” said Inc. Editor Jane Berenson. She added, “If you want to find out which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500/5000. This list is Inc. magazine’s tribute to American business ingenuity and ambition.”

The 2008 Inc. 5000 companies, as revealed in the September issue of Inc. magazine (on newsstands August 26 – September 30 and online), highlights companies with significant revenue growth. The 2008 Inc. 500/5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based and privately held, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2007, and had to have at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007. With strong and consistent growth during these last few years Lindblad Expeditions made it on to Inc.’s prestigious list with a three-year sales growth of 64%, driven primarily by the addition of new ships to the fleet, an expansion of new itineraries and the company’s strategic alliance with the National Geographic Society.

Sven Lindblad, President and Founder of Lindblad Expeditions said, “Our company has been growing at a significant rate for the past several years. And, with the addition of our newest ship - the National Geographic Explorer - an A1 class ice vessel which is larger than our other ships and designed for state-of-the-art exploration, I am confident that we will continue to grow in the years to come.”
