Patrick Gamman

Patrick hails from the lower Columbia River. Her received his geology degree from the University of Oregon with one semester spent studying at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. He first joined the National Park Service over a decade ago being an interpretive ranger at Wind Cave National Park in South Dakota. Patrick continued to work for the park service at Fort Clatsop National Memorial where he studied the journals of Lewis and Clark and then presented living history programs to the Public. After graduating college at the end of 1996 Patrick joined the U.S. Peace Corps and worked in cave national parks throughout the Philippines. There he helped park managers plan trails, create cave guide groups, and work on bat conservation programs. Returning to the United States Patrick has been working at Mt. Rainier National Park since 1999 giving guided walks in old growth forest, sub alpine ecosystems, leading hikes to glaciers, and teaching the public winter ecology during snow shoe walks. Between national park seasons Patrick enjoys sea kayaking, traveling in South and S.E. Asia, and trekking in Nepal.
