Juan Estrada
Juan Estrada was born in the middle of the mountain ranges of the South American Andes, and was raised in the tropical city of Cali, Colombia. From a very young age he was drawn to Nature and this interest later developed into a fondness for traveling.
He coursed his studies at the National University of Colombia to later continue his education and training in countries like South Africa, France, England, Croatia and Turkey, where he gained experience in wilderness survival, bushcraft training, social behavior, first-aid, sailing, among others. His ever-growing devotion for traveling and nature took him to different marine and mountain natural national parks such as Gorgona, Malpelo, Puracé and Nevado del Ruiz, where he worked as a forest ranger. These enriching experiences combined with his curiosity, thirst of adventure, and eagerness to explore finally led him to work as an expedition guide -his real passion in life.
Juan has been sailing around the globe for the past 12 years -through the Pacific, the Caribbean and Mediterranean seas- while leading several group trips in different countries and diverse cultural and natural contexts.
