
Jorge Moreno
Jorge Moreno is an MSc-trained marine biologist specializing in ecology, conservation and eco-tourism. Originally from the oceanic archipelago of the Canary Islands (Spain) so the Atlantic Ocean has shaped his lifelong passion for marine life and wild places. He has spent years researching marine megafauna across the globe, from Arctic fjords to tropical Africa or the East Pacific.
Jorge divides his time between expedition guiding, coordinating marine science and conservation projects in West Africa and the South Atlantic, and leading wildlife-focused trips around the world to the wildest places. His guiding experience spans both ocean and land-based adventures, from African safaris to polar expeditions. from where his work focuses on sharks, rays and other large marine species. His passion lies in connecting people with the ocean through storytelling, field research and immersive adventure travel, so he brings a highly engaging style to his lectures and field interpretation.
When not on board, Jorge is happiest when free-diving, climbing and seeking out new wild places. Known onboard for his enthusiasm and endless curiosity, he firmly believes you can only protect what you care about, and you only care about what you know. If you are looking for a smile, he is always at the ready with a notoriously bad dad joke. Approach at your own risk.
