Gillian Dennis

Gillian's nomadic childhood laid the foundation for her deep-seated passion for travel and adventure. She was born in Colombia and lived in Ecuador, Peru, South Korea and France before settling in her home county of Sussex, England. Gillian has recently moved again and is now living in Annapolis, Maryland with her new husband.

After obtaining a B.Sc (Hons) degree in microbiology from the University of Bristol she spent the early part of her career in the pharmaceutical industry. Although the job was fascinating it did not enable Gillian to pursue her keen interest in the natural world. So, she resigned and went to volunteer for the New Island South Conservation Trust on one of the most remote islands in the Falkland archipelago. It was while she was there that she was introduced to the fascinating world of expedition cruising. Gillian has spent the past six years working as a naturalist and zodiac driver in the Antarctic, Arctic, Amazon, and North Atlantic.
