Deibys Fonseca
Deibys Fonseca was born and raised in the mountains of western Panama. From a very young age, his interest in nature led him to become a volunteer guide for La Amistad International Park in the administrative headquarters of Chiriqui. His knowledge in geography and flora and fauna led him to participate in multiple wildlife research projects in his community, among which highlight a population census of bats, birds and plants developed by ANCON.
His interest in the conservation and education of visitors to the PILA led him to participate as a founding member of ASAELA, this NGO participates actively promoting the conservation of this vital protected area. Thanks to his work in the park as part of tis NGO, he received a grant from the Conservancy to acquire a degree in Strategies and Planning for Conservation. After finishing his studies Deibys decided to dedicate himself entirely to showing the natural treasures of his province and later he started working for Ancon Expeditions of Panama as a naturalist guide at a national level.
His passion for nature, history and his pride as an authentic Panamanian is felt in each of his tours and expeditions he leads.
