Darcy Vanderbush
Darcy spent her childhood in rural Michigan and her favorite times were being outside in nature. She fell in love with the Rocky Mountains on a ski trip to Aspen. Following her passion to ski and rock climb, she chose Boulder, Colorado as her home.
Having a keen interest in the mind/body connection, Darcy attended the University of Colorado, receiving her MA degree in Psychology. Longing to learn alternative approaches to both mental and physical health, she traveled to India to study Ayurvedic medicine, yoga, and meditation. Finding yoga to be extremely beneficial to health and healing she became a certified yoga instructor in 2004.
Living in Peru, Ecuador, and Chile she studied natural healing methods, learned Spanish, and hiked up volcanoes in her spare time. Her fascination with exploration has taken her to all seven continents including guiding in the Arctic, trekking to Everest basecamp and climbing in the French and Italian Alps.
Darcy started with Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic leading land extensions to Patagonia, Easter Island, Copper Canyon, Russia, and other destinations. She joined the Wellness program, when it began leading morning stretch classes and giving massages. As part of the expedition team she leads fast paced hikes and kayaking in favorite places like Southeast Alaska and Baja, Mexico. In her new role as wellness coordinator, she oversees the wellness program for our fleet.
Darcy enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, and doing volunteer work in developing countries.
