Chloe Nunn
Chloe Nunn is a marine ecologist and social scientist whose work explores how coastal habitats impact people and contribute to community resilience. In her capacity as a consultant—for initiatives like the United Nations Ocean Decade, among others—she has worked to implement transformational ocean action in support of sustainable development. As a 2018 National Geographic Explorer, Chloe is an avid writer and public speaker, with a particular interest in educational outreach. She provides ongoing support to the UK Polar Network, most recently as its president, representing over 500 early career polar scientists.
Chloe was awarded a National Geographic Society grant to fund her master’s dissertation fieldwork in Uummannaq, Greenland, where she researched social-ecological system resilience to local disruptions. She also contributed to and helped lead Constructive Visions, a National Geographic-funded book project that imagines a more sustainable future for the world post-COVID. An active member of the South West England Explorer Hub, Chloe enjoys experiencing new cultures, as well as traveling, sailing and sustainable living.
