Chelsea Korbulic

Chelsea Korbulic is based on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state where she works as a NOAA Affiliate for the Northwest Fisheries Science Center supporting participatory science and community engagement in salmon habitat restoration monitoring. Chelsea was raised on the Central Coast of California, where a high school field ecology course in California's Channel Islands inspired a lifelong journey of understanding the dynamic roles people can play in restoring social-ecological systems. Chelsea received her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Hawaii Pacific University, a Master of Science in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University and is an Environmental Sciences Ph.D. graduate from Oregon State University whose research focused on authentic participatory science in informal science education. Chelsea has worked professionally as an outdoor educator, naturalist and science communication specialist for marine ecotour operators and environmental education organizations for over a decade, developing and delivering place-based marine science and conservation curricula and outreach content for a wide range of learners. When not working on the land where she and her husband are building their home in Port Angeles, Chelsea loves to mountain bike, surf, and sea kayak nearby.
