Alexandra Van Nostrand
Alexandra is happiest when chasing waterfalls, exploring wilderness, or reveling in a good story. With a background in experiential learning, logistics and global fieldwork, she loves to marvel in the vastness of the polar regions and is thrilled to adventure on the world’s oceans after many years hoofing over various continents.
Raised in the Fingerlakes region of upstate NY, Alexandra received her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Emory University with a specialty in Global Health, Culture and Society. She cofounded and directed an educational startup focused on nature connection in the Silicon Valley for six years and continues to be driven by helping people connect to themselves and the natural world. When she’s not aboard the ships, Alex lives in a renovated barn outside of Ithaca, NY where she loves to spend time crafting from natural materials, hiking and writing.
Her goal is to offer logistical support in exploring the farthest reaches of the earth with Lindblad-National Geographic, and her top-priority is that our guest’s experience of these wild places will help to protect and preserve them.
