Adam Walleyn

Born and raised in the wide-open landscapes of the Canadian prairies, Adam now calls San Diego home, where he lives with his wife and daughter. With over 20 years of experience sailing aboard expedition vessels, Adam has explored some of the most remote and pristine regions of the planet, from the icy reaches of the high Arctic to the uncharted waters of the Ross Sea, visiting countless remote islands along the way. His extensive travels have afforded him the privilege of observing nearly every species of seabird and marine mammal in the world.

An experienced zodiac driver, Adam is known for his engaging lectures and thought-provoking discussions on natural history and conservation. His passion for educating others shines through as he leads small group natural history tours across the globe, fostering a deeper understanding of the natural world in those he guides. When he's not leading tours, Adam works as a dedicated field biologist, contributing to the preservation of some of the world's most critically endangered species, such as the Black Robin, Kakapo, Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Vanikoro Flying Fox, and Vaquita. His expertise in both research and fieldwork makes him a valuable asset to any expedition. At home, Adam enjoys hiking, camping, scuba diving, and tending to his native plant garden, further showcasing his deep-rooted connection to nature. Whether in the field or onboard, Adam's enthusiasm and dedication to conservation and wildlife make every journey with him a truly enriching experience.
